Baby Boy!

I'm a little late adding this post... We had a baby boy on 3rd June. He's called Gethin Kyle.He was average birth weight but very long so he looked quite skinny at first. Not anymore though. He gained weight from day one on Mummy's milk alone and is now plumped out. I'm so proud. And according to the growth charts (he's on the 99th percentile for length/height) he could well end up Hoff-height!I'll try to upload some pictures sometime...See More

29+ weeks pregnant

This is a poignant time. I only made it this far last time when we discovered that one of the twins had died. I had a really emotional start to this week. Probably because I was tired after doing my daughters birthday party (which coincided with mother's day!). It feels like a roller-coaster sometimes. Trying to get enough rest and enough me-time at the end of a day is hard. But you have to bounce back. And this baby inside is certainly doing a lot of bouncing! So no worries there.

Lovely news

I'm happy to confirm I am pregnant once again. I've just had my 12 week scan and all is well. It was a little scary being in the scan room again after events earlier this year but thenkfully there is just one baby this time, so all should go well. My due date will be 30th May.It's babies all round in our family at the moment. My sister is due her second child by New Year and my sister-in-law is due another baby about a week later than me!See More

About me

I'm 37, live in the UK with my husband and daughter (aged 5) and son (born June 2010). I first saw the Hoff on telly in the 80's - Knight Rider. I fell in love with both the man and the car. I've now read his autobiography and then got into his music via youtube. My daughter loves his music too.

As you can tell from the photos we are into camping. It makes for a cheap family holiday plus we met friends at a camp with the Natural Nurturing Network last year.
In 2008 we went wilderness camping at the end of August. This means camping with no modern facilties! I have to say we cheated a little and did more sports centre bathing than river bathing.

I also enjoy swimming and before I had my daughter I got into running too and did yoga some years back. Juggling work and home I ended up just swimming twice a week and one of those times with my daughter. She's coming on really well and is totally confident swimming underwater.

This year, the Chinese year if the Earth Ox, seems to be a really tough one all round. Not only in our family, but out there in the media too. As talked about in my previous blog post, we lost our twins at the end of April 09. Probably not mentioned was the passing of my father-in-law at the beginning of April 09. Next we hear of my sister-in-law losing her mother. I feel for DH as he has lost a friend recently and his mother some time back.

The Twins say goodbye

I never got around to finishing the blog. Unfortunately, at my last scan, one of the twins had died in the womb. The remaining twin was smaller and we decided that she would be born in the hope that the Neonatal care unit could offer her a better chance. The doctors helped us to decide. She could have stayed inside but it felt unsafe in there to me.
