First we went to the Emirates Palace Hotel for a party that Sotheby's was throwing to showcase an auction of Middle Eastern art. There was some amazing art by local artists and a carpet made out of pearls (The Pearl Carpet of Baroda) that cost a mere 3.7 million bucks.
The Emirates hotel is huge (just the building is over half a mile long!) and wow is it impressive. It's also quite beautiful, as you can see.
Next we went off to local party to watch the Oscars and had a blast. All in all it was a great night.
