And I thought I wanted to be back in Germany for November 9. Now I really want to go back for New Year's Eve. David, this was the best news I had in a long time. I hope that those of us who can't be there with you on New Year's Eve will have a chance to watch it online. The events of November 9th and again December 31 moved my family and myself to tears at the time and I am convinced the same thing will happen again. When I was a kid in school, we were always told all the horrible things "We Germans" had done to other people during the Nazi Regime; I never was proud to be German or of German descent. The events of November 9th, 1989 and the months that followed changed that. While I am very proud to be an American Citizen (just ask all of my friends), I am now equally proud of my heritage.
thank you David,
I love this interview!! I love berlin and my berlin friends as much as I love you, and hearing you talking about the fall of the berlin wall and all the experiences of the other fans is simply amazing, thank you everybody!!

That's a very nice interview, David! Thanks for sharing!
You know, for me the Wall is a symbol of something more; it's not just about freedom. I think it's about distrust and incomprehension. When people don't want to understand and don't trust each other, they make a wall...
